School Performance Grades
  • The 2017-18 school year is the fourth year for which public schools and charter schools will receive a letter grade under the General Assembly’s A-F School Performance Grades.  The grades are based on the the percentage of students passing End of Year assessments and the students’ academic growth.
Polk County Schools is one of only two School System in NC to have 100% of their schools earning a grade of B or higher.

Read to Achieve - Grade 3 Reading Proficiency
  • The NC General Assembly passed the Read to Achieve Law in 2013.  The Law requires all 3rd grade students to demonstrate reading proficiency before being promoted to the 4th grade.  Each year school systems must report the number/percentage of students who met the requirements to be promoted to 4th grade.
